Remove a member from your organization

Take someone out of your organization and free their seat.

Admin only

This page covers removing someone from your organization: they lose access to everything, and their seat is freed. To take someone out of a single team instead, so they keep their membership but stop seeing that team’s files, see Teams and team workspaces.

  2. Find the member, then click Remove at the end of their row.

Remove is at the end of each member's row.
  • They leave your organization straight away. They can still sign in to Wikidoc, but they no longer see your organization’s files, teams or people, and they’re no longer on its plan.
  • If they were an Admin or a Manager, their role goes back to Editor. They get their role back when you add them again.
  • On the Team plan, their seat is freed, so you can invite or approve someone else.
  • Removing someone doesn’t change what you pay. To pay for fewer seats, see Add or reduce seats.
  • We don’t email them about it. You may want to tell them yourself.

Removing an invitation works the same way. Click Remove on an Invited row to cancel the invitation and free its seat. If they sign up later, they won’t join your organization.

  • You can’t remove yourself. Your own row has no Remove. Ask another Admin to remove you.
  • You can’t remove the last Admin. You’ll see “This is the last Admin. Promote someone else first”. Make someone else an Admin first.
  • Pending requests have Reject instead of Remove. See Approve or decline a request to join.

Invite them again from the Access tab. See Invite a member. They can also ask to join again: their Organisation field in Settings›Account says they’re no longer a member and has a Request to join button. An Admin then approves them. On the Team plan, either way needs a free seat.

There’s no way for members to leave an organization or delete their own account in the app:
